Your item is plasma cut using 16 gauge steel, approximately the thickness of a quarter coin, for a durable yet lightweight piece. The metal is left untreated to maintain its natural finish so it is best kept dry. Because of this, each item may vary slightly in coloration and markings, having it's own unique characteristics.

Unfortunately, I received a pair of flatware bookends with notably substandard finishing. There were several highly visible areas throughout the bookends with a flawed and missing finish. As well, and per the seller's consumer reviews, there appears to be several customers also recipients of problematic finishing. Sadly, this merchant has failed to address this ongoing fabrication issue. I will allow the seller to address and resolve this disconcerting transaction with a quality replacement or full refund. Moreover, I will update this review following the seller's hopeful timely response to this matter.
